FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG invests in new multi-million Swiss franc building
In November’22, ground was broken for the extension building, south of the current FMA building in Schaan. The new building will be occupied in Q1/2024.

FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG takes over InPeKo GmbH
FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG („FMA“) announces the acquisition of InPeKo GmbH („INPEKO“), a manufacturing service provider for mechatronic assemblies based in Feldkirchen-Westerham.
- Strategic acquisition opens up access to broad customer network in Germany
- Growth supported by two additional manufacturing sites
- Expansion of manufacturing expertise to further sectors, in particular mechanical engineering, food industry and aerospace
The area of system supplier is successfully expanded in the fields of:
- Vacuum technology
- Water supply
- Medical and others
The continuous improvement process guarantees highest quality standard. 2012 the name of the company has changed in «FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG».
Business as integrated manufacturer and the own product portfolio of the aluminium test equipment is further developed. In addition, production capacity is optimized:
- Optimising layout and flow of goods in the whole production
- Manufacturing islands and implementation of one-piece-flow
- Production with integrated testing
- Implementation of Kanban
- Low-dust workplaces
In 1991 Stefan Dürr becomes managing director of FMA and builds up production capacities for the automotive field. Cooperation with Ebersbächer, KHD and Mercedes Benz for the delivery of sensors and controllers. In 1995 Stefan Dürr takes over FMA from PEBRA. 1996 FMA obtains ISO 9001 certification and expands the distribution network.
1983 the name of the company has changed in «FMA Feinmechanik & Elektronik AG». The company moves in the fall 1986 to the new building, im alten Riet 24 in Schaan. Development and construction of test stands in the area of lubricant engineering. Development of Torque wrench and measuring equipments for the automotive industry.
1971 : FMA is sold to PEBRA in Esslingen, Germany. PEBRA operates with about 2000 workers in the automotive industry. The field of aluminium measuring equipment will be expanded. Further products are for example radio transmitter for the military.
FMA enters the field of aluminium measuring techniques. The close cooperation with Alusuisse has started in the area of hydrogen measurement in liquid aluminium. Development and production of vacuum pumps.
On the 29th of April, 1955, «Feinmechanik Anstalt» was founded by Helmut Frick in Schaan.
Start with mechanical parts and simple assemblies. Later on the following electrical units are produced amongst others:
- Motors for small devices
- Coffee machines for cars
- Winches
